It's usually pretty warm in October. But if you go to visit Mount Washington all bets are off. It's only 6288 feet high but the weather is brutal. It's a freak of nature. I've been to Pikes Peak which is 14,000+ feet and the weather up there is calm and mild. On the other hand Mount Washington has hurricane force winds almost every month of the year, and had the highest sustained wind recorded on Earth, 231 mph. Let's see, today's weather was 0 degrees with a wind chill of -31, and a wind gust of 100 mph. Sounds nice.

Looks a bit nippy there.
